I am doing a paper for my Child Development class and I'm suppose to discuss the teacher's style of facilitating play. But what does it mean?!? Any examples of what it is?

  1. Facilitating - making possible, giving facilities to enable something :)

–verb (used with object), -tat·ed, -tat·ing.

    1. to make easier or less difficult; help forward (an action, a process, etc.): Careful planning facilitates any kind of work.

    2. to assist the progress of (a person).

  2. You are bascially the person who is responsible for making play possible and supervising, but not interacting. Most pre-school students will not interact when they first meet or at many times throughout their day unless the activity is first modeled to them. It's a lot like being a wedding planner. You set up mostly the entire thing, then stand back and watch others have fun. You only intervene when you need to, but are otherwise just an observer.
