They're probably responding to the way you speak.  Perhaps you give them detail that they're not used to.  Perhaps you go out of your way to avoid ambiguity.

Could mean that your methodical, and good at working things out.

Or that your handy with electronics.

It has a fairly wide range of meanings. The most common is that you are good at technology and computers. Another meaning is you are very detailed.
