What does this mean???? Please help?

My English teacher gave us an assignment. In it was a sentence I don't understand. This is the sentence

Give a short summary of the subject matter addressed in the non-fiction selection.

and

Explain how the author chose to tell the true story- what form or structure did the nonfiction take?

Answer 1

The first one means write something short explaining what you just read.

The second question wants you to describe how the author wrote the story and why you think the author wrote it that way.

i don't know what your assignment was, but the first part just means:

give a short summary of the things explained in the non fiction part.

or.. put in short terms what was said in the part that was non fiction (not fiction/ true statement/ written based off fact)

idk the second part.

How old are you??  If you don't understand this assignment it's very important that you pay attention in English class:-).  

Sentence 1: Give a short summary of the subject matter addressed in the non-fiction selection= Write a short version of the subject the author wrote about in the true book/paragraph/story you were assigned to read.  Non-fiction means that whatever you read was fact, not from the authors imagination.

Sentence 2: Explain how the author chose to tell the true story-what form or structure did the non-fiction take? = Write about how the author told the story.  Did he/she use the first person narrative?  3rd person narrative?  Diary form?
