What does tuner free means ??

Question

My Girlfriend bought a JVC DVR and we don't know what tuner-free means. We haven't received the DVR yet but I'm wondering if tuner free is the same as Dual Tuner.

I hope I'm wrong, but tuner free would imply that it doesn't have a tuner, meaning you would need to use something else as a tuner (like a cable box).
