What does your kiai sound like?

Mine's still the basic "Ei!"

But I know a guy who has a CHOOOOOOOP!

It's very distracting.

I think I should change mine, but I haven't figured out a good sound yet.

Wazaaa! On throws, sweeps, etc.

And the standard hiss on all punches, kicks, and strikes... fssss...fsss....fsssss

Then giggling and insane laughter on all submissions... except for chokes... when I choke, my kiai is "Shhhh... don't fight it... just go to sleep... yessss... sleeeeep.....shhhh..."

mine would sound like HEI! i've heard my old instructor tell stories though where he would be in a match and make it sound like he was yelling a**hole

I heard many years ago that specific sounds have specific effects on both you and the attacker.

I never really researched it.

I know that the old-school Okinawans Kiai sounded like the letter "a" or the number "8".

That is how I Kiai, which is the same sound as yours.
