What ever happened to pen pals?

It's sad, but I think the Internet did a lot to kill it off. People just aren't patient enough anymore.

I still have old fashioned penpals and it's GREAT! I would never give them up for email penpals or some stupid facebook type of thing. Getting a real letter is completely different from that.

Email, IM, MySpace, Facebook, etc. happened! People don't need to write letters any more anyway, so pen pals, like many other forms of communication have become obsolete... It is quite a shame though, because having a pen pal used to be so much fun! Getting a letter from a pal was always something worth anticipating, you know? =]
