  1. popcorn is one of the healthiest snacks just as long as you don't overflow on butter.

  2. I would say anything below 100 would probably be reasonable.Salt is not found in foods eaten in their natural state, so for example, fruits and vegetables are okay.  Even most meats you cook yourself are fine.  Dairy products are generally fine.  Think in terms of foods that taste salty or have added salt, or...here's the big one, packaged foods generally have lots added to it.  Salt is a preservative so it's added to a lot of packaged foods.

The recommended sodium for women under 50 is 2300 mg a day.  Women over 50 should limit their sodium intake to 1500 mg.  Men should limit theirs (regardless of age) to 2300 mg.  Good luck!

  3. Fruits and vegetables are your best foods for low sodium diets. Many foods naturally have sodium in them. It's recommended that you don't go below 300 to 500 a day, that is considered low. Canned foods are extremely high in sodium as are fast foods and processed foods. Your best bet to control sodium is to stay away from the above mentioned foods and do not add salt at the table or while cooking. The foods you eat with a balanced diet will have enough sodium to meet your daily requirements without going over.
