What are some foods out there with a lot of msg? I am wondering what I could have eaten yesterday that could have triggered it. I was looking for a list on line but no luck.

  1. MSG is not a natural ingredient in foods...it must be added to mostly Chinese dishes, packaged snacks like corn chips, etc., check the packages. I am allergic to MSG, but I get hives.

  2. Most chinese resturants use the stuff. Any store bought product may contain it as well to enhance flavor. Also on a product label, the stuff may be described as "monosodium glutamate" not the acromyn MSG.

  3. MSG is in every mass produced food from soups to nuts! There is a real good informative video on MSG and the dangers. If you prefer reading, I left a link too.

If you want to avoid this dangerous chemical, stop buying mass produced foods, read labels and go organic.

  5. If you are interested in avoiding MSG, you should know that the US Food and Drug Administration does require foods containing MSG to list it as an ingredient. You will commonly find MSG in foods like canned soups, instant noodles, almost all fast foods, many chips and other snack foods, frozen dinners, salad dressings, grill spices, and in most chicken and beef stock. MSG is a frequent ingredient in Asian foods, not simply limited to Chinese food. Many Chinese restaurants now offer MSG free foods or can prepare MSG free food upon request.

  6. Several types of chips still contain MSG.  I don't have a complete list, but I know Corn Nuts and Doritos do.  Both of them list it on the ingredients though.

  7. It is listed in the Ingredients label. of each food you buy.

you won't find many goods anymore

I doubt there is any list unless an individual has it

    And triggered what???

Besides there are not that many people who are bothered by it..

  8. More foods than you'd imagine have some MSG in them - especially canned or packaged foods.  Check individual labels
