I want to get into acting, never acted a day in my life, but I want to do it. I've read that beginners should have acting classes, but I get nervous and I'm shy with things like that. Anyone out there that acts and goes to auditions that can give me some advice?

  1. idk about acting classes

but theatre sure works for alot of people

    theres a big difference

cuz in theatre you get to audition for any one you want

big chances you get the part and stuff

but in acting classes they just teach you how to like work the camera or whatever

  2. i have been in 4 plays and have done an audition for Disney. it is scary at first but truthfully it is SO much fun in the end! i get little butterflys before i go on stage but then when i get out there i just let loose and it is the most amazing feeling.

advise, if you get nervous that people are looking at you and judging you just pretend the aren't there and just interact with the people on stage if you do have to look at the audience just look over their heads no one will know and you can still act like they aren't there  at least try it, its amazing.

about acting classes, and you are going to need aditude cooks need food to cook, and actors need aditude to serve up to the people they are watching people need food, actors need classes, is essential to your acting career and food is essential to living (oh so many metaphors hahaha)

  3. Well generally what goes on in an acting class is different warm-ups/exercises to help improve your perspective. But, that's in later classes. Generally you learn stage basics such as stage directions, monologues, voice, etc. It's a great atmosphere to be in and has one of the best groups of people that I've met. You meet so many people thrue this and it really is a fun activity.

  4. Exercises in building character, improv, breaking down scripts, how to handle yourself in an audition. Some might even teach you about working with an agent and contracts and such.
