What going on with them?

Question

My Japanese Ratsnakes (both male) - I purchased them about a week ago - are exuding a very strong smell that was not there before. I can't even hold them for a long time because the smell rubs off on my hands, it's unbearable.

If this helps, there WAS a female in there before but she moved to a different cage. But I wouldn 't see why that would be a problem because I cleaned the cage thoroughly before placing them in there. Help?

First, this snake is extremely stinking (Its Japanese name 'Yonaguni- Syuda' means Bad smelling snake in Yonaguni island)!

Though many snakes give off nasty smelling liquid to menace enemies, especially keeled rat, the smell is said to be more strong and disgusting.
