What happened to Leeds Utd?

i just got into football after the last world cup. iv noticed a lot good players have history at leeds. can someone tell me what happened to them? were they a good team? were they looked at as one of the big clubs in england/ europe???

yes at one point they were a big club, playing in the Premiership and Champions league

then they hit Money troubles, ended up relegated from the Premiership to the Championship, went into Administration, ended up relegated again into League One and because they tried to come out of Administration in a way labeled illegal by the FA, they were deducted 15 points at the start at last season, which meant they struggled to get back into the Championship, and now they are stuck mid table in League one, The third tier of English Football, being beaten by teams Such As Oldham Athletic ( my team :-D )

Once upon a time Leeds were regarded as a big club with a good squad of players then their chairman got them in to loads of debt and ever since it has been downhill for them, they are now playing in the third tier of English football and i cant see any way back for them. They will spend the rest of their days as a lower league club and nobody misses them in the top flight anyway.
