What happened to my speech marks?

i was writing a book on office word, and the story envolves a Portuguese man. But, after a copied translated text from the internet to the document, the speech marks (") change to this weird symbol with two arrows, sorta like this: << but closer together..... what the h**l is going on with that?

Your keyboard is set to French I think &lt;&lt; is the french speech marks.

go to your control panel &gt; Clock, Language and Region &gt; change keyboarch input etc. change it to english
