Ok,here goes. In "High Society" it's a practice where the master of the house and his family change places with the servants for one day. This way you get to see what it's like to "walk in the other persons shoes".The rule is that you have to do  the job of the person you exchanged with (within reason).

I mean  don't try getting revenge for a bad day you might be having,lol. It's seldom done here in America,but many nations (especially the military) of the British Commonwealth still do it.
