I think that global warming is when the globe gets really warm and all the polar bears die AND  we will all eventually die cause we cant survive in the hot climate  and a huge flood so  start saying your last good byes to your loved ones

Global warming in general refers to the earth going through natural warming phases. The debate occurs because some people try to pin the warming on human activity (there is no evidence to support this theory).

As for effect, the earth always warms and cools naturally. We are always effected by this, but, we adapt. Humans adapt better than any other species (except maybe cockroach).

the type of global warming that is going on right now, and why people are wearing those shirt that say"save the earth" is beacuse places like China, USA, and others have factories, cars, trucks, SUVs, etc. that put off emmisions that go into the air and dont come back. now, why is this a problem? its a problem because when the suns rays come through this layer of nasty pollution and smog, some of it is abosrbed by plants, but not all of it. some of the rays are reflected back by the north and south poles and other sources like water. but a great amount of it cannot go back into the atmosphere because the smog and pollution is blocking it. so it stay under that evil layer, that we created, and makes the earth warmer.

so you may ask, why is that bad? well, for one thing the north and south poles gets smaller and starts to melt, and it cant reflect the potential rays from the sun back into the atmosphere. and yes that layer is still there so even less could have gone through. its just a whole snowball effect that keeps getting worse.

if the Poles melt and the oceans warm too much, the water will start to grow algea. algea, a green plant that grows on water, is darker than the water, and refects even LESS of the sunlight.

let me tell you this: if we ever end up to that step, we're screwed, there's no turning anything around.

and what i just explained is only the issues with the water. there is tons more that would happen on the land, but i wont go there since it would be too long like it already is.

It's a gimmick by the government to make us purchase different things that are "Earth Friendly" It is nothing more then the natural order of the Earths cycle, like an Ice Age...

Global warming is caused by solar activity period. From the 1850s through 1940 we had a noticeable warming fueled by a spike in sunspots. The warmest year here was 1934, which was cooler than the average during the MWP. Then through the 40s and 50s it cooled a little bit as Co2 levels rose dramatically. It warmed slightly in the early 60s and then cooled again in the 70s bringing on the great Hansen’s first appearance on the world stage promoting Co2 as a global cooling gas that was going to drive the world into the next ice age and starve or kill most of the worlds population.

Then just as this was getting off the ground the sun spot activity jumped again and things started warming up again. So on the advice of Al Gore Mann and Hansen rewrote their whole scenario to match his alarmist book and altered the NASA temperature records to coincide with Co2 levels. This heating period ended in about 2000 with the hottest year of the cycle in 1998 well below the 1934 record year. Since then low solar activity has allowed cooling to set in and real scientists are watching carefully to see what direction temperatures are going to do. Recently Hansen, Gore and some of the other alarmists have admitted to 20 years or more of cooling before it starts warming again, but they at this point are guessing the same as anybody else!

Let us instead put that money where it will do some good like into a new and better reusable earth to orbit shuttle and a moon base to begin the production of orbital factories and power stations. We need to put the money where it will generate practical solutions to real problems rather than a lot of divorced from reality ivory tower failures pampering themselves and wasting money on feel good concepts that never mature into practical solutions of any kind. Spend the money on real life engineering let us get on with exploiting the new frontier!

Key point to be made on this subject, all of the major proponents of the AGW scam are against high tech answers to the energy problem. A few of the will support nuclear but they all seem to reject the real solutions to be found by going into space. If Jimmy Carter had not made his anti technology edicts the US today would be exporting cheap space generated electricity to the world and oil usage mostly for the making of plastics would be less than a tenth what it is today. There would be no call for reducing Co2 because with virtually no excess output people would recognize that it is solar activity not Co2 that brings about warming and cooling of the planet.

Despite the so called "consensus" on man-made global warming, numerous renowned scientists have expressed doubt about the theory, including Michael Griffin, Chief of NASA, and Reid Bryson, founder of The Weather Channel.

Interestingly, just in the past few days, an expert from the National Autonomous University of Mexico has predicted that we are about to enter another Little Ice Age due to a decrease in solar activity, and The Farmer's Almanac has predicted a winter with colder-than-average temperatures across two-thirds of the country.
