This is what I do, In short, all modern manufacturing/process/refineries use automated devices (i.e. Robots, proximity sensors, temp controls) to monitor, package, control various functions.In industrial engineering,there is an electrician/engineer who programs all of these functions as well as when they operate  through computers called PLC's.
