  1. It is the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland which consists of England, Scotland, Wales and the six counties of Northern Ireland on the island of Ireland.

Postcodes are not assigned to cities or towns, they are assigned to streets, every street in the UK will have its own unique postcode.

If you're not sure what your postcode is & you have the number of the house you're going to live in & the street name you can use the Royal Mail postcode search facility to find out what it is:

    Edit: EH4 1NA

Can I give you some advice?  Don't give out your address on the internet

  2. Yes, Scotland is in the UK ... but Scotland is a country and will have more than one Postcode. Every street in every town in Scotland will have a different Post code, you need to be more specific

Edit ... again it depends where in Edinburgh

Edinburgh postcodes all start with EH, but it all depends on the area, and what street within certain areas, as to how the post code will finish

    EH4 1NA
