What is Zoology.......? ?

What does a zoologist do? What fields can one work in? I am interested in working with and learning about animals but I'm not sure exactly what a zoologist does... do they all work in zoos? thanks for your help!

zoology is the study of animals and can include physiological studies on mice and other experimental animals for the medical profession it can also encompass marine biology and conservation aspects of animal protection. zoology is a very wide and varied subject which can include wildlife management and pest control it really covers anything to do with animals, but few zoologists work in zoo's.

Zoology is simply the study of animals.  Some zoologists do work in zoos, but many of them are scientists who study some aspect of animals - how they work, their ecology, conservation, all kinds of things.
