  1. Although this is not a real scientific term, it refers to the area in the United States where tornados occur most frequently.  This is the area is between the Rocky Mountains and the Appalachian Mountains.  Most tornados occur in Texas, but Florida has the highest density of tornados.  There is no official definition for the term, but it is used often by the media to describe the area in the central U.S. that have the most tornados.


  2. The great plains of north america is an example.  It is a place where tornadoes often form because of the geography and weather conditions that lead to tornadoes.
