A Chamber group was originally to perform in a small room rather than an auditorium.  Usually only one or two performers on a part. This means at most schools these would be the better performers.

Chamber choirs have fewer singers on a part, perhaps one but no more than 5, and those in chamber choirs are typically more advanced with respect to training, aural skills (good ears) and sight reading ability.
