  1. Idk who started them but at my school they are THE BEST singers

  2. A Chamber group was originally to perform in a small room rather than an auditorium.  Usually only one or two performers on a part. This means at most schools these would be the better performers.

  3. A chamber choir is to vocal music what chamber music is to instrumental music... like a string quartet or brass quintet would be examples of chamber music. Using that model, a chamber choir is a small vocal group, say between 4 and perhaps as many as twenty members. The size of the group depends on the kind of music being performed and the requirements listed in the score..

Chamber choirs have fewer singers on a part, perhaps one but no more than 5, and those in chamber choirs are typically more advanced with respect to training, aural skills (good ears) and sight reading ability.
