What is a checking account?

I got one of those pamphlets with check orders, and I really wanna get a ratatouille set, but I don't know what it's for , and why it's different than cash, or credit.

You really don't know what a checking account is?

1)  How old are you?  I'm going to assume fairly young.

2)  Do you have a bank account?  If you have a bank account you probably have checks for it since I don't know any bank accounts that don't come with checks.

3)  If you don't understand what a checking account is in the first place I don't think you should even be thinking about buying checks for it.

Sorry to report, if you don't know what a checking account is you're prob too young to open one. In the USA you need to be 18 to open a checking account.
