  1. good

  2. The word means a couple of things: First, it means how something is disposed of or thrown away, or, in the case of a legal matter such as a trial, how something is settled, whether in or out of court. Disposition means temperament or personality when it is used by horse people, though. A good disposition means the horse is gentle, friendly, and easy to handle, and a bad one means that the opposite is true.  That answer your question?

  4. In the context of a horse, it basically refers to the horses personality.  Most people who around horses a lot know that every horse has its own personality just like people.  Some horses have willing dispositions and are eager to please a rider and therefore will usually respond to what you ask for; if he's stubborn you may have to ask a few times.  Horses can have mean dispositions (but this is usually a result of earlier mistreatment).  They may actually not be mean, but afraid.  Some horses are shy (and if you stand in a field with them they won't come up to you) while others are curious (and will come check you out and see whether you've brought sugar cubes).

Although the word disposition refers mainly to the horses general personality, just like people can wake up on the wrong side of the bed, horses can act unlike themselves some days.  Thus, even though a horse generally has a good disposition he may be cranky one day due to a stomach ache or a poor night's sleep.
