  1. someone who plays back row. They  can switch for another player from the back row and they can go in and out of a game without subbing

  2. A libero is strictly a defensive player who can go in at any time for any player in the back row.  Depending on which level (college, club, high school or international), they may or may not be able to serve once per rotation.  They are not counted as a sub, and they are practically on the court the entire game.  The libero wears a different jersey than the rest of the team.  They cannot attack the ball in front of the 10 foot line.

  3. In Volleyball the Libero is the player with the different colored jersey.  They are allowed to go in the game for any player just as long as they are in the back row. They dont have to sub in like other players they just walk on to the court.  usually they play middle back as that is the place that is the hardest to defend.  the libero is the most aggressive and best defensive player on the team.  the libero controls the back row and whatever they say goes.  however they are not allowed to go above the net or past the 10 foot line on a backrow hit and, until this year, they were not allowed to serve.  I hope this has answered your question!
