  1. when you lift the ball

  2. I am a setter and it is when you take the ball too low (usually below your eye level. and "lift" the ball back into play. Setter are usually called for this because they try to set a low pass.

  3. they hold the ball too long..

    cheaters lol

    when u playy

    =]

they usually call that at least once!!

best of luck. my wishes to ya.!!

  4. A lifting violation mostly happens with the setter. It is when the ball is in their hands too long. It also can happen when the ball hits the palms of the setters hands while they are setting the ball, instead of using their finger tips.

  5. Technically, the rule about a lift is defined as "prolonged contact" with the ball.  Now, exactly what prolonged contact is depends on the judgement of the referee...

  6. When you hold on to the ball too long while setting it.  For example, the setting motion is more lenient in beach volleyball to make it easier for the players to control their sets.  Whereas in the indoor game, the time allowed for a setter to hold the ball before being released is approximately half the time what is allowed for beach volleyball.

A ball played with one hand can also be called a lift.  When attempting a one handed set, the ball is not supposed to touch the palm of the hand.

When a setter plays a "dump", if the dumping hand starts at the bottom of the ball instead of the side of the ball, then it is also a lift.

    Hope this helps

  7. A lifting violation occurs when you have a prolonged contact of the ball while setting usually it is when the setter tries to control it too much

it can also happen when someone tries to dump the ball and they take it from the bottom hence lifting it up

many other lifts that get called occur when you block the ball but it comes down your hands right in front of you and you try to dig it back up

  8. you are supposed to use your fingers when you set the ball

a lift is when you use your palms

  9. It's when you set the ball to low. Usually, the set is right over your forehead, but when you lift, the set is lower than that. Like at your chest or something.

  10. In referee clinics, they are teaching that a lift is over control of the ball.  Too much control means that he ball is in contact too long with the player.

By the way, a double hit is lack of control.

  11. when a team mate grabs another on the net line and hoists them up to slam the ball or block a shot I imagine
