  1. It's basically just a smaller field of study.  Your major is your main focus of studies, but the minor is for an additional smaller one, or to allow specialization.

For example if you wanted to be a Japanese language teacher, you might major in Education and minor in Japanese.

  2. tyry

  3. A major is what you are specializing in at a university or college. You take most of your classes geared toward a specific subject. For example, I am a psychology major. I take classes such as Developmental Psychology, General Psychology, Scientific Methods and Measurements, etc.

Having a minor in something typically means that you take a few classes in a different concentration. I am a Criminal Justice minor which means I take classes in the Criminal Justice field, but not nearly as many as I do for Psychology.

    Hope this helped :]
