What is a parents worst fear?

i heard that it was your child playing violent video games. or is it something else. i am not a parent myself so i wouldnt know but i would like to know what fears you most?

My father said it first while my mum was thinking.

"To have to attend their funeral."

My worse fear would be the death of one of my children. They are grown up now and to get a knock at the door and a police officer saying "there has been an accident" would be pretty scary. Anything else you can handle and I am sorry but violent video games don't even rate. Even cancer has a recovery rate but death is final.

That someone will hurt one of your kids.  I know there are people out there who hurt and kill children, and the thought of one of those people near my kids makes my blood run cold.

parents have many fears. I fear my son getting hurt or kidnapped or something worse like getting sexually molested/murdered. If that happened....I would become a vigilante go on a killing spree.

Im a new mommy and I fear everything!! Her first scrape on the knee her first bump of the head...her first day of school!! I fear her being taken from me especially in the night time, her being abused or molested, her getting lost..I fear her being afraid...I fear leaving her!! As a new mom I have tons of fears but the greatest fear is losing her to death...this is a big reality to me bc my mom passed away 2 and a half years ago and I know how hard it is my grandma knowing she had to bury her daughter and I know how hard things can be without a mom!! So losing her and her losing me are my biggest fears!!

I think a parents greatest fear is burying a child. Children are suppose to bury their parents not the other way around. I know I don't ever want to know what that feels like.

To bury one of my kids or for one of them to get stolen.

That your child will die; that something bad will happen.

Now that I've been a mother for 18months it's constantly on my mind.  My worst fear is that something terrible will happen to my baby.  It's a crappy feeling--best just to not think about it!

What happened?  Did you almost hurt a child or are you referring to yourself?   If you tried to hurt yourself, please don't!  It won't solve your problems.

Playing violent video games is babyish compared to having to bury your own child. I think that would be the worst thing. Kids can be taught right from wrong and still play video games.
