A platypus is in the Kingdom Animal and in the "subclass" monotreme.  They lay eggs and after the young are born they lap milk from the female body.  She has no nipples.  The platypus has a leather ducklike bill to filter out food.  A flat beaver like tail, and webbed feet. Beware of the hind feet of the male because it has a poisonous spur which can in flick a painful wound.
