  2. Please take the 1st respondent's definitions, almost correct though not fully explained. But surely, drop and forget Mr Spock....he seems just want to take 2 points.

Cabinet members are normally the discretion of the President to put in office, but subject to the confirmation of Congress./Senate.

Aside from Senate as a law making body, in a presidential form of government, Congress is also a law making body. and the office of the President, the Executive branch or division of the government, implements the laws created by the law making bodies (Senate and Congress).  And any violations of the Law, shall be acted upon by the Judicial branch of the government, headed by the chief justice of the Supreme court.

However, the Executive branch has also its secretary of Justice, as a member of the Cabinet. But not above the supreme court. For the supreme court is a separate and independent branch of government.

Committee Meetings, can be possible in the Executive branch, the Senate, and in Congress.  Committee meetings are not necessarily a final deciding body, most of the time in Congress and in Senate, they are recommendatory decisions after deliberations to be raised in a plenary sessions or meetings for further deliberations, and final decision.

Meetings of the President of the Cabinet members is called cabinet meetings. Cabinets are normally headed by a Secretary and deputy secretaries, as the case maybe.

Congress and Senate has the Power to by-pass or reject any President's installed or appointed Cabinet Secretary....

The President has also the power to VETO or reject a bill passed by Senate or Congress. But Senate and Congress can overcome the Veto power of the President by 2/3 votes of Congress and Senate.

A Mayor has his council (the law making body in a local government level) composed of councilors and vice mayor. The mayor is the sort of chief-executive in the local government, they are subordinates to the Governor in a sense.

A parliamentary form of government is quite different from a presidential form of form of government. Parliamentary government is headed by a prime minister or premier. Its legislative body is the Parliament, where they voted their prime minister by vote of confidence, and very easy to be voted out by the Parliament for vote of non-confidence of only two parties. UK is the best example of Parliamentary form of government, And USA is the best example of the Presidential form of government.

In a monarchial  states or countries, normally the Monarch, a King or a Queen is just a titular head, but no power in the legislative assembly. But of course has a big influence in the country's political systems and people.

In a presidential form of government, there is no Queen or King...bye for now.
