  1. (omg flash back!) "what is a technical fighter?" *points at me*

"ok! a technical fighter is someone who acts like a robot, this means do this, the best move is this, this is the defense to that.....where as an nontechnical fighter improvises...right?"

to be honest i don't rly know, i think i got that question wrong way back when

  2. One who does all the techniques by the book.

  3. A technical fighter whatever the art will be seen to use tactics to overcome an opponent rather than brute force. Mohamed Alie was a technical boxer; Rocky Marciano was a brute force fighter. It doesn't mater weather it is Judo, boxing or kendo some fighters rely on strength and force more than others. The ones who rely on tactics are referred to as technical.

  4. a technical fighter is one that utilizes a variety of techniques instead of just punches and kicks, a technical fighter may use combos, timing, counterstrikes, holds, throws, arm and leg bars, headbutts, and elbows to defeat their opponent.  They may also use the ring to their advantage, keeping space between each attack.

  5. grappling and ground moves.

  6. A "TECHNICAL FIGHTER" uses really, really GOOD TECHNIQUE to overcome his opponents, as opposed using great muscle power or raw athleticism.

  7. Technical in anything is someone that plays exactly by the books. A technical guitarist is very well tought in theory. A technical fighter usually excells in grappeling or submission.

  8. A fighter is technical if he has refined technique. It does not just refer to grappling or submission. If a fighter is a very good boxer by MMA standards, has good footwork, can move in and out of range effectively, and can land blows without being hit, he's a good technician, in that particular aspect of  the game. The same with Kickboxing, Grappling/Submissions, etc. My idea of a technician in MMA, would be someone who can do a little something in every facet of the game, i.e. B.J. Penn, Lyoto Machida, Rich Clementi, Kenny Florian, GSP.

  9. skill in many arts of combat as well as disciplined in working in the fight. For a example you are not going to see a technical fighter try and take an opponent in one punch. They want to analyze you and try and find a weakness and work on that to defeat an opponent. Royce Gracy was a great technical fighter for his time.

  10. Wonderfully equal, speedy, and improvised fighting

  11. I think of technical as being one who knows how to cheat without getting hurt himself. (this only works in fighting of course) ha
