I know it serves food like a resturant but how big is it and what other things does it have? I have also heard some schools have fast food (eg McDonalds or KFC type chains) at the cafeterias!

  1. Don't mind the rude people. I didn't know what a cafeteria was until I was in kindergarten or first grade. Anyways, I eat at my school cafeteria everyday we have school. Its a big building with a kitchen in the back. It fits 500-3000. Depends on what school. Personally, my school's cafeteria was designed to accommodate 500-600 people. They usually have pretty long lines. Every school is different. Some schools serve the same things a certain day of the week. Like for instance, one school may serve meat loaf every Tuesday when another school may serve something totally different every Tuesday. My school doesn't serve nasty food. We have good meat loaf. The only thing I don't like is their chicken and their macaroni and cheese. They have tables with benches or  chairs. Basically its the place where you eat your lunch and talk with your friends during meal time, lunch time, whatever you wanna call it.

  2. heres what it is. its a big room with alot of cruddy tables (depending on what school your in) you get in line. they hand you a tray. they plop things on the tray and then you pay. or you pay first and then they plop things on your tray. dont count on the fast food places. cafeterias are trying to turn healthier (even tho everything they get is from a box. like instant mashed potatoes and such) and im not exaggerating they do plop things on your tray and what they give you always taste like c**p. burgers taste nothing like burgers, hotdogs taste like hotdogs, chicken nuggets taste like paper, frys taste almost like the nuggets, the pizza comes in squares and looks like it was made out of cardboard. burritos taste like the cheap microwave things you can buy at costco and i mean the really really cheap ones. other than that its instant mashed potatoes, brown watery stuff they call gravy with chunks of stuff they call turkey. (taste nothing like turkey or gravy)

  3. In the schools I've been to the food wasn't as good as the ones in restaurants, and as for the McDonald's thing they serve hamburgers that aren't good and aren't from McDonald's.  Aside from that the typical  cafeteria is very big and have a salad bar, and other lines which serve hamburgers, pizza, and other foods like that, and you have to pay for the food (which doesn't taste good).

  4. In most schools, a cafeteria is a place where students, and sometimes teachers get their food (some food's on trays) and you go and sit down and eat. There are lots of kids, and you all sit at tables that have benches. Most places, you can choose where you sit.

My old school used to have domino's, and I'm sure some have places like KFC.

  5. oh my word, i wanna curse u out so bad, i mean so bad,

learn lil boy learn dats all i can say

  6. Okay, i'm done laughing now so i can answer. First one question...how do you not know what a school cafeteria is?

Anyways...its a place where there are all theses table, and really long lines. And first you walk in and go through one of the really long lines and get some, usually nasty, food. The type of food really depends on the school, some schools you have choices, some you don't, some schools have the grossest food you have ever seen and some have like chick-fil-a and mcdonalds and pizza hut. Then you pay for it at the end, or maybe the beginning, again depending on your school, then you go sit down with your friends =]

  7. your lucky

my school doesnt even have one =(

  8. It's a room where you get a tray and food and sit down and eat.  At all the schools I've been to there's no choices, the cooks make one nasty thing and everyone has to eat it.

  9. A Cafeteria is a big room with a kitchen attached to it. There is a counter that you slide your tray along and take food from. The food is usually really bad. Some schools do serve fast food. It's usually middle aged women who run the kitchen (lunch ladies). Stereotypically, they are really mean. After you've gotten all your food, you go to the lunch lady running the cash register and you pay anywhere from $2-6. At schools, they usually have long rectangular tables with built in benches that seat 10-12. Some cafeterias have tables and chairs.
