What is an HDMI Port?

Question

I Wanna buy a 360, I wanted the Halo Special Edition version but the regular one looks cheaper, except when i read the details the Halo version was said to have an HDMI Port, did they just forget to leave that part out on the regular xbox's details? does it matter?

and whats a Falcon Chip btw?? thx, answer good for best answer <<

HDMI stands for &quot;High-Definition Multimedia Interface,&quot; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI so essentially it means that the Halo 360 device you would be getting would have a port for an HDMI cable. This would allow you to run a cable between the console and a hi-def television or computer screen, and have your game play in high definition. This is the kind of thing that makes nerds get excited :)

If you don&#039;t have a HD-enabled television, then it won&#039;t matter if you have the HDMI port either way. Whether it has alternative ports, and not JUST an HDMI port, is the question I would be asking, and you should probably make sure to ask this of a salesperson at the store before you buy. You want to make sure that if you don&#039;t have an HD tv, that you&#039;ll still be able to use the special Halo edition box. And your other question - the Falcon chip is a new processing chip that Microsoft is shipping with the new Xbox 360s this year. The chip uses less power, and therefore is less likely to overheat and leave you with the &quot;red ring of death.&quot; It won&#039;t make your games run any faster, but it will make the Xbox more reliable. That, and it&#039;s cheaper for Microsoft to manufacture :)
