What is an advisory program ?

i got my high school schedule and it says advisory program. what is that ?

at my school advisory was a short class during the day where we could work on homework and pretty much chill out. its also called sst

I'm not positive if it's the same as my school, but at my school, when it says advisory, it's similar to homeroom.

You go there and just relax, do some homework for a few minutes, play games, or whatever the plan is for the day.

For my school, its only for 20mins of the day and we have the same people in our advisory for all 4 years of high school.

i guess its like homeroom well they told me some about advisory during my orientation
