  1. In business and government slash policies usually mean that something will be "slashed" or "cut."

    Example:  A business has just bought out another company.  It bought the company only so it could have the customers.  It does not need the people because it already has a plant that can handle the added volume.  When it cuts the jobs in this newly acquired plant, it is "slashing jobs."  This is a slash policy.

    When a government has a policy to reduce taxes, it has a "slash policy" for taxes because it is cutting or "slashing" taxes.
