  1. It was when particles humbly floating around in the 11th dimension collided...hence the our universe came...a reverse singularity, or nothing into something. That is the only current explanation.

  2. It is not "Bing Bang" but "Big Bang".

Big Bang is the evolution of universe out of a point which is undefined till the date. Nobody knows what caused it.

  3. It's Bada Bing and it was driven by the mob...

  4. We don't know. All we know is that a Belgian priest named Lemaitre thought that the universe might be expanding from a moment of creation. Later, Hubble observed that nearly all galaxies were showing a red-shift in their light and the farther away, the greater shift. Hence the idea that nearly all galaxies are moving away from us.

Thinking back in time everything in the universe must have been all together and the name Big Bang was coined. Apparently, when the idea was diffused, the Pope was said be be pleased. If not the creation according to Moses first book, at least the idea of a creation needed ... a creator.

From that time, the Big Bang theory has been confirmed by e.g. the Cosmic Microwave Background and the distribution of helium and hydrogen in the universe; all pointing toward this theory.

Science and especially Quantum mechanic has since tried to explain what was at the beginning, how things could be all together, how the forces binding them were acting, etc. But how and why it happened in the first place is still a mystery. New theories like the ' brane' theory, suggests that such two universe membranes may have collided. Others mean that it can only be a divine act.

The mainstream thought is that from the Big Bang, everything expand: time, space, matter and forces. Hence there is nothing 'outside' the universe nor was it time before the Big Bang.

Some have been thinking that the universe's expansion might one day reverse and that everything would come back to was is called the Big Crunch. But later observations show that the universe keeps expanding and even accelerating in its expansion. That lead to the idea of the Big Freeze, i.e. an eternal expansion with no return. With time matter will be so far apart from each other that there won't even exist atoms but only particles with incredible distance between them.

  7. uh...BIG bang?

  8. The Big Bang Period was the evolution of the earth. Various studies have stretched from it lasting a few minutes to millions of years. Scientists are still unsure how long it took.
