if the suns position was moved a mile away from what it is now, we would be in a lot more trouble than global warming.

IN FACT, we don't know what is causing it.  We don't even know what sets the exact concentration of water vapor and how warming affects the water vapor which is far more important in determining temperature and is far more important in the climates redistribution of temperature.

I don't believe that gasses are the only cause of global warming.  I would like someone to explore the possibility that the growth of the cities adding more roads, and buildings which tend to hold in the heat which then adds to heating up the atmosphere conditions.  

Maybe they need to also look into making building materials which absorb or do not hold heat.  The sizes of the cities of the world have literally exploded over the last 15-20 yrs throughout the globe and besides the gasses produced, I'm sure the cities and the concrete jungles we've created have been a big contributor.

human activities are contributing to global warming by adding so much amounts of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide accumulate in the atmosphere and trap heat that normally would exit into outer space.

Global warming is caused due to 'man-made disasters', especially usage of fossil fuel... which has not only led to the exhaustion of these, but also to the emission of green house gases, which eventually led to GLobal warming...... now a days many organizations have come up to protest against these, to reduce the effects.Due to these reasons climate model projections summarized by the IPCC(intergovernmental panel on climate change) indicate that average global surface temperature will likely rise a further 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) during the twenty-first century.

No one really knows for certain. Some say it' greenhouse gases building up. This build-up supposedly happens as man-made pollution increases and traps the suns radiation in our atmosphere. When this happens heat exponentially increases temperatures and melts the ice caps, increases sea levels, causes droughts, famines, hurricanes, etc.

However, the non-global warming camp would say that many of the studies environmentalists do are based on biased information. They would say that it is natural for the earth to go through heating and cooling stages throughout the ages. There is evidence for both but I think we need a more balanced view of things. No doubt, pollution is harmful but at the same time, if global warming is a natural phenomenon then we need to rethink some policies.
