What is chemical engineering?

hi

i live in Melbourne, Australia

so i will be doing VCE in a 3 yrs

im very interested in chemictry, so ive been wondering, what subjects will i have to do for VCE to become a chemical engineer??

and what other engineering careers are there??

  1. A chemical engineer must know chemistry, but they must also know about how to make chemical processes work on a large scale -- not just in the lab.  

    They must have some of the skills of a mechanical engineer (to know about pressure tanks and pipes and valves and mixing).  They must have some of the skills of an electrical/instrumentation engineer (gauges, motors, etc.)

    Subjects:

    Advanced math like calculus (all of it)

    Chemistry

    Physics

    Biology (some of the chemical processes you will work on may be biological)

    .
