  1. Basically it is packaging culture for sale - e.g. establishment of a value (in terms of labor or real monetary value) for any number of markets.  - Making culture into a commodity.  An example is the establishment of historical parks and the development of a tourist industry around them.  

    it is also what anthropologists do when they try to sell books on ethnography - but don't use this in class, you'll get an argument!


  2. This is the time period that the homosapians discovered a need for a comode.  Prior to that, it was cuturally acceptable to avoid the use of a hole.
