  1. Electroflocculation is a process for adding coagulating metal ions to water. These ions coagulate with pollutants in the water, in a similar manner to the addition of coagulating chemicals such as alum and ferric chloride, and allow the easier removal of the pollutants.

    This technique might be useful in the treatment of recycled water for drinking but would not be sufficient. Recycling water to a high enough quality for drinking will required a number of different treatment techniques to address a variety of different pollutants.
