  1. Tibet is a province of China.  Now.  End of story.

Whether people in Tibet wants to be is another story.

"Genderbias" claimed to read a book.  But only got half of the facts right.

Ming Dynasty is Han people.  Qing is Manchu.

Taiwan was a part of Qing dynasty, so was Tibet and Mongolia. and vast part of Serbia that is now Russia..  You would hardly find a Manchu today that doesn't recognze themselves as "Chinese".

Who owns what land when doesn't really matter.  If you controls it, it is yours.  Just look at Countries in Americas and Europe and Africa....same story.

Saying that Chinese has no claim to the land of Tibet and Taiwan because it was Manchu control is like saying that Black people in America has no right to claim that Texas is part of United States.  Silly logic.

  2. province of China

  3. Tibet like googie say was an independent country.

Howdays Tibet is now an autonomous region of China.

When Tibet officially became part of Chinas lands is unclear.

Some say it was in the end of the Yuan Dynasty (1368), when along with China, it was part of the empire of the great Khan (Mongol Empire) then the Mings defected them and claim there lands as China soil.

However, it is a certainty that Tibet became part of Chinese soil in ca 1950 then the PLA enter Tibet and the leaders there forced to sign the 17 point agreement on 23 May 1951.

  4. Of couse it's a part of china ,and not a indepandent nation .Tibet has been  under china goverment's control for nearly 50 years .it's more rich than before ,i went to there 3 times and recently in April last year ,economy is growing everyyears. Most important ,the  locals adapt to changes and the birillian culture to be preserved.  But i wonder why medias

always report the dark side of tibet,And to abolish the reputation of chinese and to mislead western.

  5. Tibet was an independent country bordering China which the Chinese government invaded and now controls. Go to your world maps and you will comprehend the invasion.

  6. Manchus consider they are Chinese.

Manchus Qing was replaced by Repuiblic of China in 1911.

Now Taiwan is Repuiblic of China because CCP overthrow Repuiblic of China in Mainland in 1949.

So, this is the successor state, Qing Dynasty -> Repuiblic of China -> People's of Repuiblic of China.

China lawfully owns sovereignty over Tibet.

  7. Great Question! Chinese students have wonderful and interesting ideas about Tibet, so hopefully they will tell everyone!

  8. Tibet is a province of China.  It's full of indiginous people that are mostly Buddhists.  It was conquered by China in 1950 much like the US conquered the Indians or a large section of Mexico, or like how Canada conquered Quebec, or how any country conquers another.  In recent times for some reason it is cool to complain about China taking over Tibet, but it is what it is.  Does anyone feel the need to give California back to Mexico?

So Tibet is a province (state) of China in the southwest to answer your question.

EDIT: As for Mr. Hex's input, it's a very good description of how Chinese view the history.  The Chinese believe China has been a constant throughout history.  In fact, it was a part of Mongolia - Mongolia, not China.  Then it was a part of the Ming Dynasty, also not China, Manchu. So technically, never part of the area of China before 1950.  China was not China until 1949.  There have been hundreds of different countries in the area.

EDIT: Just to let Aileen know.  Mongolia is Mongolia no matter what the Chinese call it.  I suppose Taiwan is part of China right?  And no it wasn't part of the Qing Dynasty. Ming - as in another country.  And one last thing, if it was not part of the Mongolian Empire along with most of Russia and the mid-East, did China actually conquer itself? Did China take over 70% of the world at it's hight? No, I think that was Mongolia. Read a book.

  9. Just wanna tell Genderbiased that it was not "Ming Dynasty" but

    Qing Dynasty - Manchu

And even the Mongolian ruled China, it was known as Yuan Dynasty.  Obviously, you do not know much about Chinese history.

    Edit:

Mongol Empire had 4 khanates ruled by different Khans under the Great Khan. It was not the Chinese called that era as Yuan, it was the Mongolian Khan  picked its title.  Yuan was one of the khanates of Mongol Empire, officially named as Da Yuan.  "Yuan" is a Chinese word, originate from I Ching. You really need to read a lot more about Chinese dynasties and Mongol Empire!

You mixed up Qing dynasty with Ming Dynasty!

And - Taiwan was part of China in Qing Dynasty - in 1683,  Qing formally annexed Taiwan placing it under the jurisdiction of Fujian province.
