  2. freedom, clean environment, growing economy - one the largest economies in the world, safe, clean, friendly open minded intelligent people, universal health care, top education system..opportunity to be anything u want...the great for outdoors all seasons, rocky mtns, oceans, cities, lakes

  3. your parents would most like to know perhaps how Canada and Switzerland are similar and different.

Like Switzerland Canada is multi-lingual and well developed technological society.  The official languages are English and French (like switzerland) but many other languages common as well like punjabi, korean, hindi and cantonese, mandarin etc..     Climate wise, southern Ontario and Quebec much like switzerland with 4 distinct seasons and snow in the winter.  The prairies (Manitoba, Sakstachewan and Alberta) have much colder winters than switzerland.  British Columbia has milder winters than Switzerland and lots of mountains as well.

Differences, the size of Canada is huge. All of europe would fit many times into Canada but we dont have a lot of people, 30 million or so.  Most of those people live in the 10-12 major city areas across the country with lots of vast spaces in between.   Most of Northern Canada is completely unsettled.

If your going to school here chances are you would have to pick one particular city or province to look at.  Maybe review links below to get an overall view of the country and get some idea of what area of the country you'd like to attend school and then re-post a question on that area in specific.

  5. Hmm...

    Healthcare is free

    Very diverse

    Kind, welcoming people

Lots to see from East Coast to West Coast

You get the best of both worlds, skiing in the winter, beaches in the summer....

I think what's most important is because it's such a diverse place you learn so much about different cultures and religions. In Toronto especially, it's very multicultural and everyone is very friendly. There are loads of other things too but I can't think of them spur of the moment. Oh yes! We have some of the best universities! It's extremely competitive but UofT, McMaster, Queen's...all world class schools.

  6. Their French.Bojour,Monsiour

  7. free healthcare, free speech, winter AND summer, culture, mountains, wild nature, a safe place to live, a good education system, lots of forests and very little pollution, many outdoor sports, ice hockey, a huge place to travel through and discover, oceans, good food, we aren't at war with anyone....basically Canada has a lot of the same attributes as Switzerland.

  8. I suggest you stay in Switzerland.

  9. Some of my favorite things about Canada:

    Beautiful countryside

    Incredible parks

    Excellent zoo

    Niagara Falls

  10. I live in the United States but have visited Canada many times...Thing that Canada offer is Beauty... Forest of Evergreen Trees, old style of fishing ports... Toronto is a city with a mix culture of people. City that leads the world in Leather goodies.... A city of great music from rock & roll and some great Jazz... A very Safe city that would be a great environment studying and life experience... This is what I say to my parents " Mom Dad let me go and learn life in a new country, This is an opportunity of a life time... I love you both, but I need to start living my life... We will stay in touch by e-mail and phone"

  11. Niagara Falls, Climate, Enviorment, animals, free health care, birth place of maple syrup, law, the BC rockies, the French culture(Quebec), Animals, Parliament Buildings, the East coast (Nova Scotia, Newfoundland)  CN tower, Rogers Center, Giant Lobster, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut, prairies, Hudson's Bay Company, and last but most definently not least, Tim Hortons.

  12. The people are really nice, the schools are amazing, and its the birthplace of maple syrup!!!!

  13. Climate: while Toronto does have warm summers, winters are often cold and snowy, so not a giant change from Switzerland.

Education:  Many Canadian schools offer exchange programs and have opportunities for foreign students.

Toronto is a very diverse city/region with immigrants from all over the world.  From the Caribbean to the Middle East, there are enclaves of immigrant populations all over the area.

Canada is a bilingual country; our official languages are English and French.  You must be able to speak at least one.  In the province of Ontario (where Toronto is located), English is the dominant language, but all official government forms have both languages.

Canada believes basic healthcare is a right.

In many schools you will meet students from other countries.

Toronto generally scores well on quality-of-life and safety studies put out by the WHO.
