In regards to education Inclusion is the practice of providing a curriculum that is inclusive of all children, ie embracing children with special needs, varying cultural backgrounds, non gender bias opportunities etc. In years gone by, the term Social Justice was used, but Inclusion has become the more recent terminology.

  4. I work with children with Autism and for our needs, inclusion means that there are certain times of every day when neurotypical children are brought in to socialize with special needs children. This helps both groups of children, as it models appropiate behavior for the child with autism and teaches the neurotypical children to accept differences. We love it and feel it is a better model then bringing the special needs child into what can be an overstimulating enviroment.
