What is it about young men ?

that make them more apt to hit on a woman disrespectfully?

I always hear women justify rude acts with "he's just young."

So what gives? I was personally never like this when I was young, so I don't get the correlation.

Maybe they don't understand how to treat and talk to a woman yet. I mean with my friends, they like to talk about male genitalia to pass time. That would connect to how they hit on girls and also explains why they don't have girlfriends, except the girls that also like to talk about male genitalia. They haven't played the field and learned what women need and respond to. Long story short, they haven't been slapped enough. With age they get distinguished and so without age, they are complete jerks, or pigs, or whatever you want to call them.

Actually, I'm not sure most young men are rude in this way ~ often it's just that the obnoxious ones stay in the memory while the more reasonable are quickly forgotten.

But you are quite right that bad behaviour is frequently justified by saying the person is 'young'.

It may be the reason, but it is NOT a good excuse, and if they are not called on it, they will continue to go the same way as time goes by.

Generally men are scared of women because of all of there crazy antics - that's why most are just looking for an easy hookup.  You broke all of our hearts and treated us like c**p for so long, it has finally come around to bite you.  =p

First off, this question is stupid, in society men are expected to do nearly all of the courting for women, and women have to give of a verbal or a physical cue and wait for the man to do the rest of the work.

Men hit on women because it is them trying to find a mate, something you, as a woman; do not have to do. Your mates come to you due to how society has set up the dating game.

And it is not rude, its natural.

Of course you were never like this! You're not a man and don't have to court jack ****!

Mothers can't or won't talk about s*x and relationships with young boys and too many Fathers are not present at all or are just baby daddies and so the young boys learn about relationships from TV and music videos.

But the main reason younger guys hit on girls disrespectfully is that it works more often than it fails. That means that as long as girls and young women tolerate that behavior and reward it by dating the young man who disrespects them they will continue to act that way.

Just look at the whole rap music industry. In too many cases this is where young boys get the idea that it is acceptable and normal male behavior.
