What is it like in Australia?

Question

I might be moving there and need some info, tips etc. What are people like there? I hear it's similar to South Africa, Is this true?

p.s. If I move it will be to Brisbane!

You will love it. Australia is very scenic . but being such a large country to see all the scenic and diverse exciting wonderful places can involve a huge amount of travel. Brisbane is a typical city with a big river running through it. the beaches aren't so good but 1 hour on the train and you have the fabulous Gold Coast Beaches to the South and North of brisbane is The Sunshine Coast with Hinterland and Glass house Mountains at the back. Australia Zoo is not to far and several small Islands off the Coast great for week end breaks away. There is a mixed race of people. We are very multi cultural. Always plenty of jobs advertised. We have super winters  they are mild. Summer can get quite hot at times. Most places have airconditioning.

Weather is good except for Jan - Feb when it is very humid.

Good work life balance.  Strong job opportunities and nice surrounding areas to explore.  Massive infrastructure build at present means traffic is getting worse (until new roads are finished).  People are friendly but with less travellers than Sydney / Melbourne it can be harder to break into social scene (unless you have kids at a school or something).

Australia is way better off a place to live than Nz atleast our Ethnic crime is not as bad as New Zealands. Australia is a peacefull place its 5 times population the of Nz which usaully means its 5 times better in Governance, raods, technology and other aspects too. Also dont be tricked by the Kiwis they are very good at rubbishing and saying bad and most times untrue things about Oz. An example is they Nz like to claim they are Canada and are more sophizicated  and like to point out that Australia is backwards and redneck like USA which is false.

Deep down Kiwis hate to admit that Aussies are a more successfull country with great wealth and they envy our lifestylers of beautifull weather and great beaches which is similar to South Africa in many ways.

By the way I am half Ausse and half Kiwis so I know what Im talking about and Australia is the place to be which is why so many Kiwis are moving to Oz everday.

Brisvegas is a great place to live we have a very multicultural mix the weather is really good for 9 months of the year Jan-march can be very hot and humid. We are less than an hour away from both the Gold and Sunshine Coasts which means you have a choice of some of the best beaches in Aus to choose from. The theme parks are 30-45 Minutes away depending on traffic. The people inn Brisbane are mostly really friendly but like any big city we have those that should be kept in a closet and only released in time of war (LOL)

yea its an alright place, good paid jobs and lots of shopping, but not a very scenic country, its got nice beaches, the people are ok, not the greatest. New Zealand is a far nicer country in retrospect.
