What is it with england & scotland?

i am not saying all scots are like this but some are and do not like the english. I am from newcastle so not to far from scotland but i moved to aberdeenshire and some scots give me h**l just because I'm english. things like go home you don't belong here, but when i ask they say its because of the wars between england & scotland (like 900 years ago). I don't mind them having a grudge (we did try to take over there country) but it was not mine or anybody elses idea so why should they take it out on us.

Are you sure you haven't said anything to wind them up?  I'm from Edinburgh & we generally have nore in common with people in the North if England than we do the soft southerners.  Lets face it we've got more history (be that in some ancient wars) with one another than we do with the southerners.  To turn your question around though, i'm sure there are people from the other side of the border that say that to Scots as well.  As for me...I take people as I find them.  If people try to integrate into our society and enrich it, no matter where they are from, then I am all for it.

It's unfortunate that your experience in Scotland wasn't the best. Yet I find this hard to understand as well. I live in Scotland, don't mind England or the people there, there are people in my school who are English and don't find any problems.
