  1. JMBMY03  is my postal code. calm dung pan di thumbs down dem nuh people...5?! maasa unnu wicked.

  2. There are no postal codes in Jamaica. The city or town and parish are all that we need to route a letter. We are not very big and much duplication of addresses does not go on. In Jamaica most people do not have mailboxes as they live in villages that do not necessarily have a structured gate numbering system. A lot of people visit their post office for mails thus most addresses  have the format of: -

    Name:     Justin Cleary

    Address: Free Town District

                     Free Town P.A.

                     Clarendon

The ones in more urban places, like parish capitals are usually as follows: -

    Name:      Adessa Rowe

    Address: 120 Constellation Close

                      Christian Gardens

                      St. Catherine

N.B. *you do not necessarily highlight the words name and address or even write them on the envelope. It's just for the exhibit.

We are divided into 14 parishes and these parishes are kinda like states but waaay smaller so we do not have a need for postal codes. Here is our postal corporation's website: http://www.jamaicapost.gov.jm/

If you happen to be Jamaican and need to enter a postal code into a form or something just put in five zeros. If it will not accept that enter the parish name in all caps. If it only accepts a certain number of characters just type in what can hold.

    Luck to you.

  3. There are Postal Codes for the City, Kingston. It May be from Kingston 1 to Kingston 20. If the address is on Kingston, make sur eyou have the postal (zip) code because there are many "Central Avenues" and "East Avenues" in Kingston

  4. There are no postal codes in Jamaica, we dont have any postal codes at all. You just put Jamaica, West Indies after you put the address and the city.

  5. THERE R NO POSTAL CODES IN JAMAICA.  NONE!!

  6. none

    JM

Jamaica, West Indies, doesnt really have a postal code per say. That's like asking what is the U.S.A.'s postal code.

All districts in Jamaica have unique postal codes. They all begin with JM, so i guess that would be the prefix for Jamaica. Don't assume that putting 'JM' alone on your envelope will get it where you want it to go!

    EDIT:

For those that dont know, there DEFINATELY ARE postal codes in jamaica. Every single post office in Jamaica has a code assigned to it (that begins with JM).

The postal code system has been struggling for about two years now, but very few people know of it. If you asked someone who worked at a post office they would tell you.
