What is moral independence?

What would you define moral independence as, and what would prompt you to search fo it??

  1. Moral independence is having no one to answer to but oneself.  A significant percentage of kids who go off to college immediately turn to alcohol and s*x, for example.  

    People reject God for the same reason, i.e. they don't want any higher authority, including God, telling them how to live their lives.


  2. i guess being morally independent and having different morals than the rest of society. if you were a rebel or wanted to form a better model of society.
