With gas prices as high as they are, I'm wondering about the best way to save money. Is it better to fill up the tank a little at a time, ie. $10 for a couple gallons, or all at once?

  1. Keeping a regular speed definitly helps to keep consumption down.

  2. Fill the whole tank now! In a few days it will probably cost more!

Tip: (In our area at least) gas prices go up a little on weekends and drop back down on Monday.

  3. It is less hard on the wallet to purchase at half a tank than pay the $40. to fill up all the way. That is the only way I can manage most of the time.

  4. Fill the whole tank, in a week gas will be more. Also don't let your car run with less than a quarter of your fuel left. When your car has less fuel, it uses it up more fast. Also try not to go too fast, that wastes gas too.

  5. fill up when the temperature is lowest i.e early morning the liquid is more dense at cooler temps, hence more gas.also keep the tank full- less evaporation when full.
