I heard and read that the New PBS program says Bible isn't true, but stories made up .

meawhile Your tax dollars helped fund "The Bible's Buried Secrets"

this is sad!

I wish you all Sign the petition urging Congress to stop using tax dollars to fund PBS. Let PBS operate like every other non-commercial network, raising its own money from its viewers instead of using tax money.

The Public Broadcasting System (PBS), probably the most liberal network in America, will present a program this fall that says the Old Testament is a bunch of made-up stories that never happened. "The Bible's Buried Secrets" says the Bible is not true. It is scheduled to air on November 18.

  1. Our nation is turning into an Obamanation!

  2. It is turning in to the North American Union.

  3. It seems like there's alot of anger and fist pounding....People demanding what's GOOD for THEM (Self centered) instead of stoping to ask what's good for us all.

  4. i do not waste my time on pbs.  I would rather watch MSNBC or CNN.  Much more informing.  why our government gives money to PBS is beyond me.  especially when we have a 9.2 trillion dollar deficit.

  5. well it is true. Christianity was easy to push on people back in the day because no one was educated and they couldn't read anyway

  6. don't watch it if it bugs you...but you have made me interested.

the Old Testament makes god evil in my opinion so I tend to think the stories are just that...stories...  told by sheep herders.

IE Noah's flood.  if god did kill off humanity then in my mind that is evil.

  7. You can always leave if you don't like it here. Go to Mexico or Iran where the government is really good

  8. I'll have to remember to TiVo that.

  9. PBS is true.

The Bible is a collection of mostly myths and hyper-exaggerated historical events, like any other religious text.

  10. our nation is turning into a silver fork

  11. Our nation is turning into a politically correct, appease everyone weasel.

But PBS does provide good stories and articles even though they are politically Liberal, as you state. Not everyone believes the Bible word for word - especially those that have taken some science classes during their course of studies, or those that are open to new ideas, cultures, or beliefs. And we must not forget that the Bible was written (and distorted) by humans. Some of it is true, but some of the context is distorted or made up. The problem is identifying which parts are true.

  12. This nation is turning into a heathenistic nation.  Look at the glorification of Hollywood,  Self serving athletes and rock stars are the heroes of the day.  It all began when Bible reading and prayer was taken out of the schools and then came the legalization of the murder of the unborn.  This country doesn't want God and so God has removed His hand of blessing from her.

  13. Well, you see, its actually OK for someone to say the bible isn't true.

    You're allowed to do that.

Thankfully we have moved on from the Spanish Inquisition, and individuals are allowed to discover their own beliefs, and express them openly. Whatever it was that you saw, I'm sure it was presented as an opinion in documentary form, not as a factual news bulletin.

You might have to get used to the idea that the world will never be 100 percent Christian, not even America, maybe even be glad of it, as I am.

  14. I agree.  Our tax dollars keep PBS afloat, otherwise they couldn't make it.  I, for one, wouldn't miss them if they went bye bye.

  15. As much as I hate liberals, PBS is right on this one.  The Old Testament is pretty much 100% lies, that says the earth is flat, g**s and disobedient children should be stoned to death, slavery is OK (just don't beat your slave so severely he dies on the same day) and that the universe is 14,000 years old.  Come to think of it, does a reasonable person really need a PBS show to tell them that?
