I just finished reading a book about philosophy called "Sophies World" and they mentioned this term a few times throughout the book.

Can you please paraphrase the definition so it's easier for me to understand?

  1. Ironary means contrary to what was expected or intended, so it could mean someone falling in love with a person whom they plotted against or intended to do harm to.
