What is the CTT rating like?

Is it all electronic monitoring and watching radars? Now, I want answers from people who know their stuff. I have researched all the websites and know the textbook answer so please don't give me a list of navy websites to look at. I wanna know from someone who is a CTT or works with them. What duty stations are available for them such as sea duty, CONUS/OCONUS? A day in the life.

ALSO, I wanna know a day in the life of ratings IS and CTI. I am contemplating these three ratings. I already qualify so skip any advice on that as well. I just want an indepth look at CTT, CTI, and IS. Thanks people...

It's Secret Squirrel stuff, so no actual CTxs will be able to tell you Anything about what they do on a day to day basis.  the information you find on public sources such as about.com and navy.com are as much as you are going to get.  

I can tell you that CTIs do NOT interpret.  They sit in dark rooms with headphones on and transcribe all day.  you do not get fluent enough to be able to use the language outside of the military in any professional capacity.  

CTx is mostly INCONUS/OUTCONUS rotation as opposed to Sea/Shore rotation( exception: CTI)  CTIs are never PCS afloat but they have DIRSUP orders.. shore duty..that isn't.  they deploy whenever their skills are needed..which could be always, or hardly ever.  there are two ways NIOCs handle DIRSUP: one you are assigned to a specific ship/sub/squadron..and when they get underway, so do you.    or you could be placed in a pool, and when somebody needs your skill set, you go..and if you are the only guy qual'd..you go a LOT.

I'll tell you, CTI, IS, CTT is a good order, but in any order it's geat. Try for the CTI, take the DLAB and if you pass definitely go for it. You know it's for being a translator basically, and receiving confidential messages, top secret clearances needed, etc.

Also there are descriptions of ratings and other information.

I don't know if you've read these, and maybe you didn't want them but I will give them to you either way. These are documents that MEPS Navy Liaison hands to you with your contract and explains this exact document about the rate.
