It depends on the school.

I don't think there is one.  I think it depends on the size of the school and the size of the PTA and its involvement.  I was the VP and treasurer of a small private school's PTO and we only had $2000 start-up.  We ended the year with $13,000.  Larger schools will hopefully have much more to work with.  They increased after that because they have a large scale project they are saving for.
